Tonight the Huskies had the early game against the Wendigos (who have unfortunate baby blue uniforms this season---they rightly call their uniforms "pajamas"). We did not have a good game and I'm not quite sure why.
We lost 0-4. The first two goals of the game were quick, within the first two minutes. The Wendigos were all over us---they game out ready to play. We didn't.
Our defense played pretty well. We just were indecisive. People were slow to clear the puck out of our zone and we were weak in the neutral zone. I would much rather someone decisively pass the puck. We kept diddling around near centre ice and the Wendigos would get control. Same thing with going into the offensive zone. Either skate the puck in and shoot (or pass if someone is there) OR dump (put some power into it) & chase. Some of our wings also need to step it up---forecheck & backcheck, please!
I felt good after the game although I wish that the third goal could be a do-over. It wasn't pretty. In fact, I felt much better tonight than after the last game which we won in a shoot out (also known as a "goalie nightmare"). My skates were sharp and I felt relatively good. Last week I ate bok choy before my game and kept burping. It was disgusting. Never had that happen before and hope to never have it again. Oh, and my glove hand was smoking tonight. It was like I used to play. Fun!
