International Herald Tribune Headline:
Hong Kong Reports 1 New Flu Outbreak as Worry shifts to Mainland Bird Flu Fears
Most of the scary viral stuff that comes to Hong Kong originates in the Mainland.
As for the SARS death stats, my husband mentioned the other day that he was told by a Zhuhai official that over 9,000 people died there of SARS in 2003. And Zhuhai was not the epicentre of the outbreak. Scary!

You know it...and we don't hear a thing about it. HK tends to panic of stuff like this. They rightly announce issues that happen, but the media and general public tend to blow it out of proportion. Here, we hear nothing...so we blindly go about our lives. Although, I don't hang out with birds...we don't buy chickens from the market (and we cook them until they are DONE) and we have our Tamiflu, just in case.
Life goes on.
