Here are James and Claire at their school's International Day. I always find it a bit difficult to dress them in the "National Dress" of America. What the hell is that supposed to be? Native American get up? Pilgrims?
James is wearing the Red Sox uniform my brother, Bg, bought for him two years ago. And Claire is dressed up as a cheerleader (how did I get such a girly girl???).
Reminds me a bit of Sixth Grade's Culture Day at HKIS. Denny Wetjen, my teaching partner for two years, always wore bib overalls. He grew up on a farm in Iowa and would dress up as "agri-CULTURE". It would confuse our ESOL students but most of the other sixth graders would either laugh and/or groan.

We had our son dress in Levi's and a t-shirt...throw on a baseball cap and you can't get more American than that. The Swede's and the German's have it so much easier on those days! Ha.

Good idea but it's so HOT (as you know) here at the end of June. And International Day at their school is always on the second to last Friday of the school year. One other snag is that my daughter (who only recently has said she is "American Chinese"---previously she was just "Chinese") refuses to wear jeans.
