December 21st:
James & Claire went over Grandma's this afternoon to make cookies and to do crafts. Jami, Kathy's niece, was also there. James never quite got over the rousing welcome he received from the dogs. (In his defense, he was just about asleep when we arrived. He climbed out of the car and one of the more vocal dogs was outside (in a fenced in area) and kept barking. The refrain we heard off and on from James all afternoon and evening was "I want to go home". Funny the first 3 times but not so funny the next 96! Seriously.
Claire had a great time playing with Jami. They both worked on crafty creations. Claire now has a really cool wall hanging she made hanging in her room near her bed. James enjoyed playing with all of Grandma's games. He loves little pieces that he can rearrange. He also helped me when we all played "Dog-opoly" which was a surprisingly fun game.
Above are some photos of the kids making snowPEOPLE (Claire doesn't like them to be called snowmen). James liked putting the "pretties" on his, but by far his favorite part was eating the cookies. He is a true cookie monster.
Thanks, Mom, for a fun afternoon and a delicious spaghetti dinner. Oh, and your house has a new name: "the dog house" (James).
